This session helps parents and caregivers understand test results, what gifted identification does (and doesn’t) tell you, what questions to ask schools, and what to expect academically and socially in the year ahead. Meet Your Presenters

Stephanie Newitt is a gifted education advocate and the parent of four gifted young adults.  She is a former AAGT Board Member whose newest adventure includes being a gifted education teacher for 4th, 5th and 6th grade students in Gilbert.  She loves exploring metacognition and growth mindset strategies with her students.  When parents and teachers understand the characteristics of giftedness their peace increases and they are better equipped to help gifted students grow in their self-awareness and self-acceptance.  When Stephanie is not teaching she enjoys kayaking, yoga, reading, and off-roading with her husband in their RZR.  She loves citrus blossoms, sunflowers and harvesting berries from her thorny blackberry patch which, besides berries, is also filled with many life metaphors.
